How to get on the right road to Heaven
In order to make sure that you are on "The right road to Heaven", you must realize that there are certain criteria that you are going to have accept in order to get on "The right road to Heaven"
I. There is only ONE WAY to Heaven:
1. Matthew 7:13 says, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat ". The world will try and tell you that there are many ways or paths to get to Heaven or God. This verse plainly says that there is only one way or gate in order to get to heaven and that gate is straight, it is narrow and it is the way that leads unto life and there will be few that finds it (Matthew 7:14).
2. I believe that the gate is none other than Jesus Christ. For John 14:6 says, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way , the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. You see Jesus says in this verse I'M THE way, THE truth, THE life. There is one thing about the word "THE", it's primary function is to show that the following noun or noun equivalent is definite or has been previously specified by context or by circumstance . So it tends show that there is truly only one way to heaven and that it is only through Jesus Christ.
II. Realize that you are a sinner:
1. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
A. None doeth good (R) Psalm 14:3; 53:1.
B. There is none righteous (R) Romans 3:10.
There are some things to consider in these verses;
1. All have sinned - that means you and me, everyone that reads this must have the understanding that we all have sinned, and because we have sinned, we have come short of God's glory. It does not matter if you have told a lie or have murdered someone, we all have sinned.
2. None doeth good - Isaiah 59:6 says "Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of viloence is in their hands".
3. None are righteous - Isaiah 64:6 says "But we are all as unclean things, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away".
III. Realize that there is a penalty for our sin(s).
1. Roams 6:23(A) says "For the wages of sin is death.
Just like you get paid a certain wage to work a job and when you are done working that job you expect to be paid accordingly to those wages. Well sin has a price and that price is death. Now that word death has two meanings:
1. A literal physical death - James 1:14-15 Says "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (V15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin. when it is finished, bringeth forth death".
2. A spiritual death - Isaiah 59:2 says "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God".
Because of sin not only will we die physically we will also die spiritually, where we will be eternally separated from God, forever and forever (R) Revelation 20:11-15.
IV. Realize that God has made a way for us to be reconciled back to him.
1. Romans 5:8 says "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us".
2. Romans 6:23(B) says "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".
Even though we are sinners and do not deserve the Grace of God, he has with-holden mercy in allowing Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, the life and the only way to God (R) John 14:6. God has given us a free gift through His Son Jesus, all we have to od is be willing to accept it.
V. Realize all that we to do is ask for forgiveness of our sins:
1. Ask and it will be done
A. "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (R) Acts 2:21.
B. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (R) Romans 10:13.
2. There are two words you must understand:
A. Shall- that word shall when it is used before a verb in the infinitive to show that
(1) Something that will take place or exist in the future.
(2) Something, such as an order, promise, requirement, or obligation.
(3) The will to do something or have something take place.
(4) Something that is inevitable.
Basically it is saying that if you are willing to call upon the name of the Lord, He will save you.
B. Whosoever - means exactly what it says "whosoever". which means "YOU".
as you can see that with-out Jesus we have NO HOPE of ever being saved, it is he and he alone that paid the price for our sins and with-out him we are condemned to a "devils hell" (R) Revelation 20:11-15.
Are you willing to accept Jesus and what he has done for you.
If you are, please pray the following prayer:
Dear God,
I know that I'm a sinner and on my way to hell, where I will be eternally separated from for ever and ever. I repent of my and ask Jesus to come into my heart and to be my personal Saviour and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. By faith I accept your free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ and from this day forward I trust in Jesus as my Saviour. I ask it in Jesus precious Holy Name.
If you have prayed that prayer please let me know as I desire to be a help to you in the furtherance in your growth and daily walk with God.
